JULY 25, 2017

I have some very exciting news!! We will be undergoing BIG changes to our Church webpage!! We will be under construction for a little bit while we undergo these changes, so please forgive us, but! I will keep everyone updated as much as I can and I am incredibly excited for the changes! We will be mobile friendly, which if you guys are anything like me and my family, we are always on a mobile device! You won't have to scroll side to side to look at our webpage. This is going to be a modern, easy to see, easy to use, friendly page, that will not have duplicate tabs! We will be able to put so much information on the new site, and add photos!!  I can't wait to start getting all the information and reading up on what all the new webpage can do for us!!

May 1, 2017

The first of May is already here!! I can't believe it!! Summertime is coming which means that we need to get some cleaning done around the Church, inside and outside. Sadly, our Church Work Day had to be cancelled for April 29 due to snow, but a new date will be set here soon and we will have a list of things to do. I know we are going to have to pick up the trash that blows over into the play area, and the flower beds may need to be weeded. There is always work to be done inside as that is a pretty big building! I know that not everybody may be able to attend to help out on the work day, but any help is always appreciated. Believe it or not, this is a fun time even though you may see the word "work". Anytime we are able to get our members together, there is fun and fellowship! Make sure to keep an eye out for the date!

STAR Missionary of the Quarter

Our new STAR Missionary of the quarter is Daniela Toc, missionary to Romania. She has requested prayer for peace in their relationship and wisdom in raising her four children. She loves any type of gifts including supplements like spirulina, barley grass powder, and organic vitamin C. She also likes vegan cook books, Christian books, and books on nutrition, but with the high propensity for package theft, and excessive custom charges, she prefers monetary gifts which allows her to buy whatever she wants. Additional information may be found on the Ladies’ Fellowship table. Donations will be accepted through the end of May. See Cheryl Clinger for questions.

August 18, 2016

What is that that I just typed?? August??? My oh my! Where has the time gone?? Wow, August! I'm sure that many of you who have kids that are of school age are now experiencing empty house syndrome. Maybe all your kids are at school or maybe you still have one at home to still share time with. I'm sure there were some mixed emotions about the school year starting, some parents are sad that their babies are growing up, some parents are excited about the possibilities for their kids, and there may even be a few parents out there that were excited for just a couple hours of peace and quiet while the kiddos are at school! Either way, did you pray for your child/ren? Did you pray for the teacher, teaching staff, and administrators? Did you pray for the safety of your child's school and other students? Did you ask you child/ren if they prayed for this school year?

I wonder if sometimes prayer is forgotten when it comes to repetitive things. Do all Christians pray before a meal? Do all Christians pray before going anywhere in their car? What about Church? Do we all pray before a service for our Pastor, that the Lord will tell him what it is that he is to preach about? Or do we sometimes forget, or even take things for granted, that The Good Lord knows our heart and things on our minds?

The Bible says in Thessalonians 5:17-18 "Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

What does it mean, "pray without ceasing"?  It means recurring prayer, or non-stop talking,to continually be in an attitude of prayer. To "pray without ceasing" can also be the times that we all wake up and look out our window and see Pikes Peak and it takes our breath away, so we stop and Praise God for giving us this day, and that beautiful scenery to look at every day. We can Praise God that He gave us the coffee that we drink in the morning, Praise Him for the vehicle that we drive to work in and take our children to school in. We can Praise God for the homeless person we see at the corner, for one, that we thankfully have a home, but two, to thank Him for putting the homeless person in our path so we may take a moment to pray for that person, and to take a moment to share the Gospel with him. We can SING Praises to Him as we continue to drive along to our destination! These are just a few ways of praying without ceasing in only an hours time! Imagine all the things that we could accomplish if we did this all day! Glory be to God!! To pray without ceasing does not mean that we are always asking things of our Lord and Savior. It just means that every moment of our lives we are to be aware that God is with us and that He is to be in all of our thoughts and actions.

So yes, summer may almost be over, our kids have gone back to school, the weather is already changing on us, but these are praises! God gave us all of this! Let's remember to pray without ceasing. Don't take things for granted, TELL God how blessed we are, better yet, SHOW Him how blessed we are!! Pray without ceasing!!

Hello from Hilltop Baptist Church! We have had a lot of positive things happen in the time since we last had a blog on here, so there is so much to fill everyone in on. First of all, many apologies for the lack of communication. More effort will be put into Hilltop Baptist Church website to keep everyone up to date.

So, in the last entry, it was stated that Brother Ken and his wife left the church and boy, do we still miss them! Pastor Allen and other Brother Ken have taken up his many duties and have been doing a marvelous job. Pastor Allen has stepped away from the choir and passed that duty on to Sister Heather and she is doing exceptionally well. I'm sure it doesn't hurt to have a well established choir though, lol. We also have had Brother Jon, Brother Chris and Brother Mel step up to take turns in leading our music on Sunday services. Brother Greg still plays the piano for us with Sister Laurie filling in for him incase of an absence, and Sister Johna plays the organ for us. Sister Heather, along with being our choir leader, also plays the flute during songs and Sister Casey plays the violin. We are still enjoying having the Praise Team sing the beautiful, uplifting praise songs to our Lord before Pastor Allen begins his message. We are always looking for more people to join the choir, praise team, or play an instrument, so please, speak with Sister Heather if you are interested.

Pastor Allen, as usual, is on fire for The Lord!! It is the best thing here on earth, to have a Bible Preaching Pastor that loves God as much as he does, that treats his congregation as family, as Brothers and Sisters, not just Church members, who goes out on visitation to help spread the gospel and try to bring more people to the Lord and His love, and most importantly to save lost souls, a Pastor who will roll up his sleeves and work right along side of us to continue keep Hilltop Baptist Church beautiful and running the way our Loving Lord says we should.

Speaking of keeping Hilltop beautiful, we have had some BIG changes in our Church. A lift has been installed on the main floor by the main entrance that will bring our members up to room 200 on the second floor. Room 200 has had a makeover too. The walls were sanded, and repainted, and there were even walls that were removed. It is such a nice large, open room. Pastor Allen is now in the process of remodelling the restrooms up there.

The biggest change in here is the foyer. Talk about a change! The carpet has been pulled up and a very nice ceramic tile has been laid down. The walls have been painted in a soothing lavender and smoky purple, there are large black and white photos of Hilltop Baptist Church from 38 years ago so you can see how much the building has transformed, and the Gideon 300 board has been tastefully redone. We have many different seating areas now for our members to sit and join in fellowship between services. See? I told you, many positive  changes have occured in the last 10 months!

Now, onto the present. We are still a happy, friendly, God fearing Church that loves visitors and new members. Our Sunday schedule is as follows; Sunday School starts at 9 AM, Church starts at 10 AM, and Sunday evening service starts at 6 PM. Discovery Club starts at 4:30 PM for the teens, and 6 PM for K-6. Discovery Club is available during the School year, and breaks for summer. Choir practice is at 5 PM on Sunday unless otherwise stated. On Wednesday we have services at 6 PM. During the summer, we have a meal and a message in the gym. There is a small charge of $3 a person or $10 a family during this time if it is a meal provided by the church. We also have potluck nights which is of no charge. Feel free to look at our calender to see what the meal is for that date. With so many service times available, we hope to see you soon and join us in worshipping our Lord and Saviour. We love our members and we love to have new guests. Feel free to invite a friend, co-worker or neighbor to join you. God loves all His children. Praying to see you all soon. God Bless!!

Today is a mandatory Discovery Club Training class tonight at 5 pm in room 200. Anyone that is interested in being a leader for this should plan on coming tonight. I really hope that we see a lot of new and returning faces!! Discovery Club will start for the kiddos next Sunday, the 23rd, at 6 pm. This is going to be a great year again for us again and even better for the kids that will learn God's word and how to apply it to their daily lives. Tonight they will also be holding choir practice at 5 pm in the Sanctuary. I appreciate all the hard work that Pastor Allen is putting into the choir now that he has to fill Brother Ken's shoes! It looks like we are getting some of our other members to help by leading the Choir on Sundays and that is such a blessing!! The Lord may take good things away from us, like Brother Ken and Miss Linda, but he has opened another set of doors for us too. Thank you Lord, for all that You do!!

December 25, 2014

On behalf of Hilltop Baptist Church, we would like to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas! We pray that you all know the TRUE reason for this day, the Birth of Jesus Christ. If there any of you out there who do not know The Lord and would like to have Jesus in your heart or have any questions on HOW to receive Jesus into your heart, please feel free to contact our Pastor or any of our Church staff or Deacons at the Church. We would also like to say Merry Christmas to all those in the Military who are out protecting our Country, and are not able to be home with their families. May God continue to protect them, keep them safe until they come home, please be with their families and give them peace and comfort on Your Birthday Heavenly Father. Please bless and keep everyone reading this safe, and full of the Holy Spirit today and everyday. Thank you God, for giving us the Birth of Jesus on this day, and for loving US enough to send Your Only Begotten Son to die on the Cross for us and rise again on the third day so that we, Your Children, may live a wonderful life and be able to go to Heaven and be joint heirs with You, Heavenly Father, and live with You in the streets of Gold. Thank you Dear Lord for Hilltop Baptist Church, for all our staff and members, and for giving us a truly fantastic, God Loving, Bible preaching, Pastor to lead and guide us from Your Word!! May you all have a Wonderful Christmas day today and remember the True Reason for the Season, Jesus Christ. Luke 2:1-20. God Bless you all!!!

December 20, 2014

We have such a busy day coming up tomorrow, on The Lord's day. First, starting at 10 am, we have our Christmas musical which we all know will be superb!! The choir and the music director have been working very hard on this for many months now!! Then, tomorrow evening, at 6 pm, we have our Candlelight Service. This is such a beautiful way to hear the story of the Birth of our Lord from Scripture and sing praises to Him. Our offering at this service will be a designated Christmas gift to help purchase and install a vertical platform lift. We would LOVE to have everyone come and join us at Hilltop Baptist Church for these services as we celebrate The Lord's Birthday!! Isaiah 9:6

December 14, 2014

What a wonderful Sunday service we had yesterday! Great singing from our choir, a beautiful musical special from a terrific mother and daughter duo, and as always, Pastor Allen was on fire for The Lord with his message, "All I want for Christmas" which comes from the scriptures Luke 2:8-14. For those of you who missed yesterdays service or would just like to have a CD to enjoy anytime, please feel free to inquire about a copy with any of our Church staff. We have so many events coming up in the next couple of weeks so please keep following us on here to stay updated!! God Bless!

 December 5, 2014

It is just a few more weeks until Christmas.  Because of all of our busy schedules during this time of year, it is good to remind ourselves of the truths given us in John 3:17:  For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

Jesus is God’s gift to this world.  God’s desire is for Jesus to be our personal Savior and to fill our hearts and lives with His love. Christmas itself is a grand opportunity to say “thank you” to God for the gift of His precious Son.

Please make plans to join us for our candlelight service on Sunday night, December 21, at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium.  We will sing Christmas carols, have special music, and read the Christmas story from scripture.  Our offering at this service will be a designated Christmas gift to help purchase and install a vertical platform lift for our Church.  We, like the wise men of old, should present our gifts to Him.  I hope you will join us for this special service.

Our prayer is for every family and individual to have a joyous and Merry Christmas and a prosperous and Happy New Year.

Merry Christmas,

Pastor Allen

It’s back!  The Hilltop Baptist Church AWANA program is back in session and we are excited about the coming AWANA year.   We are happy to welcome our largest T&T club in recent history and we hope that God will continue to bless and grow our AWANA program.  This year brings loads of promise as we welcome Brother Ken N. to his first full year as Club Commander.  We pray for God’s wisdom and guidance on Ken and on all of the leaders in our program.  We still have openings for AWANA leaders as well as the Cubbies and Club secretary positions.  Please prayerfully consider volunteering with the AWANA program.

Proverbs 22:6 (KJV) tells us that we are to “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”  AWANA is here to teach God’s Word and reinforce God’s promises.  You have an opportunity to help teach and train the next generation of believers and all it takes from you is a little bit of your time.  We ask that you prayerfully consider helping in AWANA or by inviting someone you know to our AWANA program.  We look forward to seeing you on Sunday evenings at 6 pm.
